Moritz von Oswald

Audiences with Moritz von Oswald are few and far between. For years, he and his partner Mark Ernestus avoided the prying eyes of the media, creating a mystique that was almost as powerful as their records. Having practically invented minimal techno with Basic Channel, they then moved into the twilight world of dub, creating the Rhythm & Sound alias to explore the spaces beyond the bassline.

In this lecture at the 2008 Red Bull Music Academy, Von Oswald talks about dub, his relationship with the New York reggae sound of Wackies and how his work has spawned a thousand imitators.
